Most video wall buying guides apply reasonably well across mainland markets, with some adjustment for local climate. Hawaii is different. The combination of intense UV exposure, high humidity, and salt-air conditions near the coast creates a genuinely distinct set of requirements — and hardware that performs fine in a market like Phoenix can fail quickly in Honolulu if it wasn't selected with these conditions in mind.
A video wall is a long-term investment, typically expected to perform for five to seven years or more. In Hawaii, the environment works against that lifespan more aggressively than in most mainland markets — not through extreme heat alone, but through the combined, sustained effect of sun, moisture, and salt. Selecting hardware without accounting for this is one of the most common — and most expensive — mistakes in Hawaii commercial signage projects.
