Kaiser Permanente recently completed its largest construction project with the completion of Santa Clara Medical Center in Santa Clara, CA. Santa Clara Medical Center is a regional specialty center for pediatric patients throughout Northern California. The 327-bed, 52 acre hospital integrates inpatient and outpatient services.
The building has been designed to create a facility where physicians and staff have the tools they need to provide the highest quality care and outstanding service. Kaiser Permanente chose Interactive Touchscreen Solutions to meet the quality standards of their new facility.
Santa Clara Medical Center required a system where visitors and patients could easily find maps to all departments within the hospital and medical office building as well as access their Physician database and Scheduling system. The system needed to easily be updated to reflect departmental moves.
They opted for the free-standing Future enclosure, while some Navigo Systems were simply placed atop the Information Desks at main entrances. The systems provide visitors and patients with maps and directions to various provider offices, events and services on campus. The roll-out of their Navigo Systems was important since offices and services were moved to Santa Clara from the previous campus just a 1/2 mile away. Timely updates were performed by ITS in coordination with KP to ensure the most up to date office and service locations were reflected as moves were made.
